Schroeder Law Offices, PC is a water law firm serving municipal and agricultural clients in Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and California along with some international consulting work for government contractors. Schroeder Law Offices is seeking an associate attorney in its Reno, Nevada office.

Associate Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients under supervision of shareholder/partner
  • Prioritize and diligently monitor numerous and diverse client tasks for timely completion
  • Develop transactional water rights, demonstrate superb knowledge of option available to clients under law, and proficiently complete transactional tasks
  • Litigate before administrative, state, and federal forums, often involving unique matters of first impression, including all phases of litigation from commencement to post-trial and appeals
  • Participate in team environment
  • Communicate effectively to further client matters
  • Bill required hours on a daily basis, and provide complete narratives of all time to justify client invoices
  • Travel to remote, rural areas as necessary or requested¬†for client development and representation
  • Research and write effectively
  • Attend to detail in completing title work

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 0-5 years experience
  • Member of the Nevada Bar. Licenses in California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Utah a plus
  • Connections and knowledge of the agricultural industry and/or management of local governments
  • Background or education in water law, hydrogeology, property, real estate, land use, agriculture, municipal/local government, and/or energy
  • State, federal, and/or administrative litigation experience
  • Transactional administrative agency and contracts experience
  • Proven written and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven networking skills including teaching, training, speaking and writing
  • Competence working in an all-digital environment
