Kelley came to Schroeder Law Offices in January of 2012 to move her career from social work to law. She had just returned from a year long stint in Georgia where she was accepted to study at Georgia State University to obtain her Masters in Social Work (MSW) but decided to return to the Northwest where she started the Paralegal program at Portland Community College. Kelley was offered a part time position as an office assistant at SLO and after a few months, became the full time Legal Secretary, Office Manager and now the Assistant Firm Administrator. Kelley has been working hard to hone her administrative skills and learn everything she can about the field of Water Law.
Role and Development
As the Assistant Administrator for the Portland office, Kelley’s responsibilities range from billing clients and maintaining client files to assisting in hiring, scheduling speaking events for Laura Schroeder and assisting with attorney support and financial management. Kelley has been learning all she can regarding legal administration and continues to expand her knowledge of law through training opportunities and attending legal seminars for administrative staff.
Kelley graduated from Oregon State University in 2009 where she received her Bachelors of Science in Human Services. She was an active member of her sorority Sigma Kappa, where she learned to wear many hats at the same time.
Kelley has lived most of her life in Portland and enjoys all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, camping and hiking with her dogs. She is also working on her home renovation skills and loves anything DIY. Kelley has recently joined the Oregon Women Lawyers Dragon Boat racing team with Attorney Sarah Liljefelt. She also volunteers her time with Village Support Network where she assists previously homeless families stay in their newly placed housing.
