Lynn L. Steyaert

Lynn Steyaert's emphasis is water and natural resources law, focusing on both transactional and litigation matters.  She has represented clients in litigation relating water rights disputes in State administrative and judicial venues and assisted clients with permitting and transfers issues. 

Ms. Steyaert received her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and went on to earn the M.Ed. from the University of Arizona in Educational Psychology.  She received her J. D., cum laude, from Nevada School of Law in 1986. She is currently enrolled in graduate studies in conflict resolution and mediation.

She has worked for the mining industry both as corporate legal staff and as an independent consultant for mining companies.  Additionally, she was employed by the State of Nevada as an Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers, representing clients at the administrative and appellate levels.  After moving to Oregon, she has refocused her practice on natural resources and environmental law.

Lynn Steyaert is licensed to practice in Oregon, Nevada, and California*.  She is admitted to practice in US District Court in Oregon and Nevada and also the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Oregon Bar Association, the Multnomah Bar Association and Oregon Mediation Association.

Personal
Born and raised Southern California, Lynn Steyaert has lived in most of the Western States.  She came to Oregon from Nevada in 2001 where she resides with her husband, Karl, and two teen-aged daughters.

 

 

Volunteer Activity

Lynn volunteers her time with Habitat for Humanity, the Oregon Food Bank and at her children's school and sports activities.
