Cortney D. Duke

Cortney Duke earned her BA from Concordia University in Portland Oregon in 2001 and her J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso Indiana where she concentrated in civil practice. She joined Schroeder Law Offices, PC, as an attorney in the fall of 2004 having served as a law clerk during the summer of 2002.

Ms. Duke focuses her practice on assisting agricultural clients and water organizations. These include irrigation districts with issues such as formation, water delivery, liens, public meetings and records law, elections, water right transactions and transfers, and litigation. Since joining Schroeder Law Offices, PC, she has also assisted clients with Bureau of Reclamation Contracts, diversions, dam removal and transfers, and ESA Compliance.

A member of the Oregon State Bar Association, she is active in the Administrative Law Section. She is a member of the Oregon Agricultural Alliance, Oregon Business Council and Oregon Water Resources Congress.

Ms. Duke is admitted to practice in Oregon, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

 
Personal

Cortney Duke was born and raised on a small farm in Lakeview, southern Oregon. She has a great love of sports and the outdoors, having competed in the Chicago Marathon and been a key player in a winning volleyball team. She is currently active in rock climbing, backpacking and mountain biking. She has summitted Mt. Hood twice.

Cortney volunteers with The Mazamas, a Portland based mountaineering organization.
